ESCEA approached P&W Engineering with a requirement for a production tool that could crimp a gas proof joint. This was to replace a previously pop riveted joint that was now redundant due to a requirement to meet the stringent Australian standards.

There were several parts that needed this crimping joint so flexibility was a major requirement, along with the ability to be easily used in a production enviroment by semi skilled staff.

As a solution, P&W designed, build and commissioned a hand held 10 ton capacity crimping tool with the flexibility required to carried out all joints on all parts.
"Enerpac" high pressure ram to produce the force and a high strength "bisalloy" body to hold the tooling.

The P&W design team have extensive knowledge of sheet metal tooling, forming processes, punching and progression dies.
