After the fire, the building required immediate repairs. The damaged conveyor was repaired and weatherproofed, which enabled operations to carry on while planning the new design got underway.
It was a chance to create many improvements in the new design. In collaboration with TM Consultants the concept was developed, and the project specifications were defined.
This project was split into several major phases to manage the building repairs, seismic strengthening and civil works. Complex crane lifts were required, and the new equipment was installed without incident.
Commissioned in early 2022, the finished new conveyor system with refurbished building structures met all expectations, and the project was deemed a huge success.
PW Engineering were engaged in the early brainstorming stage of our bulk material intake system replacement, which then progressed with them being awarded the contract for mechanical design, supply, installation and commissioning of the new system. PW Engineering have been a key contracting partner of Ravensdown for a number of years, with a strong focus on health and safety, quality and workmanship.
