After a large fire in 2018 destroyed the intake at Ravensdown's Hornby Works site, PW Engineering worked alongside external consultants in 2019 to redesign the system to new and improved specifications. The new system caters for the full range of bulk materials required for fertilizer manufacturing and is capable of conveying up to 800 tons/hr with the largest conveyor approximately 200m in length.
After 12 months of concept design and planning, PW Engineering then tendered for the design/build of the conveyors and associated support structures. Fabrication of the new equipment started in mid 2020 followed by a demanding installation phase with successful commissioning in Dec 2020.
