Replacement needed for critical infrastructure at end of life

Replacement needed for critical infrastructure at end of life
Two belt conveyors which bring fertiliser products into a large bulk store complex had reached the end of their useable life. The replacement was planned over two Winter shutdowns between shipments, resulting in an improved conveyor system featuring an automated tripper car with safe and compliant access.

Planning for Long Term Success

Planning started in early 2020 with conceptual layouts of various intake designs. This ensured that any work contributed to the overall long-term plan.

A Phased Installation Programme

Phase 1 was to replace the conveyor and walkway in store 6, install the tripper car and strengthen the building during Winter 2021.

Finishing the Project

Phase 2 extended the new conveyor through into the adjacent store, where the access was now linked up, and the tripper car runs the length of both stores.
